Description
The Sycamore Gap is a famous location on Hadrian’s wall, a Roman wall in Northumberland, England. The ~300 year old tree was a popular subject for photographers, artists and visitors as it was a lone tree located in a dramatic dip in the landscape. It was featured in a prominent scene in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. The tree was felled in the early morning of 28 September 2023 in a heartbreaking act of vandalism. This decoration is a tribute to this place, which has special value to many.
